Along the beaches are beautiful homes with 1, 2 and 3 stories, many of them older single family homes built in the 1920s and 30s.  Today many of these older beach homes are being replaced with modern single family homes and condos.  Along the 27 miles of Pacific Coast Highway, are estates, and larger single family homes, many sitting on multiple acreage lots with lush landscaping of natural brush, trees, and many with meandering brooks and creeks coming out of the mountains above.  Even with all of the tourists who visit Malibu, there are very few motels, hotels or resorts to speak of.

Condominiums and upper end townhomes have become quite popular in Malibu in recent years.  There is a great selection of modern and gated condo complexes in Malibu and near by communities to check out if a condo is what you are looking for in this great sun filled town.  The prices of all homes, condos and town homes in Malibu are going to be in the upper end category, with age, size, amenities and location the determining factors in prices, and the same is true for rental fees.

Living in Scarsdale, New York is living in an high end rural area of New York. The people who live here are mostly upclass professionals who commute to their businesses in Manhattan. Scarsdale real esate is high in cost and very sought after.

Ranching and farming was the predominant occupation of the nearly 300 population.Potatoes and other vegetables were grown on the ranches in the area.The people coming here were hindered by the lack of employment opportunities in the 1790s. This is a somewhat white collar community with a higher than average education rate as well as a very much higher than normal income average.  The village is also known for its artists and their contribution to the village’s character.  Another interesting feature is that many people who live here also are working from their homes involving computer type work. Scarsdale has a very educated and diverse make up.

Because of many things, Scarsdale is a very good place for families to consider. With an enviable combination of good schools, low crime, college-educated neighbors who tend to support education because of their own experiences, and a high rate of home ownership in predominantly single-family properties, Scarsdale really has some of the features that families look for when choosing a good community to raise children.

Pembroke Pines

Pembroke Pines, Florida is one of the most beautiful areas in Florida with beautiful views, lush landscaping, and warm weather. Pembroke Pines offers a wide variety of custom homes, condominiums, townhouses, vacant land and gated communities along with great city services and facilities with award winning schools, parks and recreational facilities. The town started as agricultural land dotted with dairy farms and grew after the war as servicemen were returning, which included large eastern sections that were part of the Waldrep Dairy. It was then known as the “Village of Pembroke Pines”

Pembroke Pines was incorporated in 1960, and took the name Pembroke from its location along Pembroke Road and the many pine trees in the area. But the name Pembroke may date back much further. The name may have been from an early landowner from Britain known as the Earl of Pembroke. This small property was less than a square mile and was between Hollywood Boulevard and SW 72nd Avenue, and had the Florida Turnpike to the east. The city fathers needed citizens involvement so they organized the Pembroke Pines Civic Association. The square-mile city was unable to expand due to North Perry Airport and the South Florida State Hospital. The developer Joseph LaCroix had his three hundred twenty acres.(3 km2) land north of Pines Boulevard joined to the city. This gave a new pathway to proceed westward. In 1980, the property from Flamingo Road to U 27 was annexed into Pembroke Pines, doubling the size of the city. This expansion included the property that is currently C.B. Smith Park as well as the Hollywood Sportatorium and the Miami-Hollywood Motorsports Park. Then the new highway I-75 was built.

The city’s expansion was part of effect of Hurricane Andrew in 1992. Hoards of southern Miami-Dade County residents moved northward to Pembroke Pines. The resulting boom ranked the City of Pembroke Pines third in a list of Fastest Growing Cities in the United States in 1999. In spite of the damage from the last decade’s hurricanes there is still expansion.
